We offer an extensive range of the highest quality premium teas, both single estates sourced from tea growing regions around the world and exquisite flavoured blends made by hand in our factory in Edinburgh.
We found the flavour of Honey Oolong to be absolutely fantastic. When we first put the dry leaves into the pot the aroma was sweet and floral with notes of spices. The leaves are beautiful and wiry thanks to the gentle processing. And the tea itself has a honey like flavour, with floral notes and the classic darjeeling muscatel flavour.
After just over a decade we are saying goodbye to our shop at 20 Leven Street this month with our last trading day on Saturday 24th July. We're not closing down - we're moving to Leith, in the north of Edinburgh.
This is a really simple iced tea that you can make in 10 minutes using a cocktail shaker. No need to leave the tea to chill overnight. A couple of years ago we experimented with this method of making iced tea using Lapsang Souchong, so I thought the same technique would work well with our Islay Whisky Tea. The smokey earthy notes are quite unusual but very refreshing, it's a great option for a non-alcoholic drink on a summers day.
Saturday the 12th of June 2021 is International World Gin Day so I thought I would share my recipe forApothecary Rose G&Tea Iced Tea. The botanicals in the Secret Garden Gin Teas really pick up the flavours of a gin and tonic, except there's no alcohol involved.
One of the questions we are asked most frequently is: Are your tea bags plastic free? The short answer is yes because we don't use nylon or conventional mineral oil plastics. But it does not fit with our ethos at PekoeTea to simply boast about having plastic free tea bags without delving further and answering the questions about what our tea bag material made from.
With Father's Day in less than two weeks, I thought it would be nice to put together a Father's Day gift guide. Being a dad myself, I've based this around what I would be happy to receive if my son decided to buy me something tea related or what I would buy for my dad for Father's Day.
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5th June and has been since 1974. Its purpose is to engage governments, businesses and citizens to think about positive change for global ecosystems.
As a business we are aware that every time we bring in a shipment of tea, boil a kettle and even run our computers we have a carbon footprint. However lots of people around the world rely on tea to earn a living and survive, so we need to find a balance.
One of the things I love about summer is the amazing fresh strawberries picked from the garden. This was the inspiration behind one of PekoeTea's best selling hand blended green teas - Scottish Summer Fruits.
