'Blend'is a potentially confusing word, especially when talking about teas.
It might mean the process of combining different teas together, as in a Breakfast Blend. Or it might relate to flavouring teas – be that with natural flavour oils, herbs, spices (or all of the above). And of course there are herbal and fruit blends which don't contain tea (i.e. Camellia sinensis) at all instead bringing together caffeine-free ingredients for heaps of extra options.

Lately we’ve been experimenting with a mixture of all these methods. This isn’t a brand new development – we’ve been producing favourites like Blue Lady and Cherry Sencha for a little while now – but we are getting more adventurous as we aim to move away from third party suppliers to doing as much of the blending as possible in house. Right now we are in the process of re-blending Scottish Summer Fruits right here in Leith...
