    The Miyama Story

    The Miyama Story

Miyama is a company manufacturing beautiful tableware which aims to imbue daily life with more pleasure and beauty. Miyama was born in 1977 in Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture of Japan. Miyama inherits the art and spirit of the “Risen-yaki” ceramic ware developed in this area. They continue to make ceramics using the pressure casting method, where clay is poured into a plaster mould under pressure. They use high glass content clay fired in a high temperature oven. This creates beautifully transparent white porcelain. The Miyama aesthetic is inspired by Japanese Hiragana. Just as they blend clay with fire, they blend design, form, painting and firing in-house to create beautiful pieces to use in your home.
