FESTIVE TEAS ARE HERE!
Yes, the festive season is upon us – with three delicious new tea products for us to showcase. We can’t believe the year has flown by so quickly, although like many we are looking forward to better times ahead! We’re excited to share below our newest teas now available in time for the holidays: Our new and improved Christmas Blend Tea, The Fudge House tea and our Whisky Tea Collection of five teas made using real Single Malts. Each of our festive teas make great Christmas gifts or stocking-fillers, or why not add to a local-produce foodie Christmas hamper?
It’s been very busy at Pekoe Tea HQ developing and perfecting each of the above teas, most especially our Christmas Blend Tea, making tweaks and improvements on our very popular blend from 2019. We’re really happy with the flavour of our new blend, and greatly enjoyed all the behind-the-scenes taste-testing. Our newest blend is made right here in our Leith warehouse. It includes a base of fine Black tea, with notes of clove and cinnamon spice to give it a warming quality, real chunks of dried apple and orange peel, with a hint of sweet vanilla to soften it and make the flavour smooth. The result is Christmas in a cup!
We're really proud to be the first company to collaborate with The Fudge House Edinburgh in their 70s years of trading, a historic institution on the Royal Mile. We worked with them to develop a brew that would perfectly complement their handmade fudges and sweets, and the result makes for a lovely afternoon tea blend. Our indulgent Fudge Tea is ideal for sweet tooth and made with real nuggets of The Fudge House of Edinburgh’s finest fudge. These dissolve in the tea to give a discreet sweetness that is pleasant without being overbearing.
Lastly, our Whisky Tea Collection is a real ‘Made in Scotland’ creation. We have collaborated with Single Malt producers across the country, to develop five very different teas each celebrating one of the individual whisky producing regions of Scotland. We worked hard (and did a lot of fun whisky and tea tastings!) to ensure each tea reflects the terroirs of the different regions and highlights the flavour characteristics generally associated with each whisky. As well as blending in Single Malt whiskies, each tea also marries Scottish ingredients such as heather, currants, mallow flowers, cornflowers and berries with spices that highlight the rich and complex Scotch whisky aromas and flavours. Our resulting tea blends: Highlands, Islay, Campbeltown, Speyside and the Lowlands are a unique, Scottish gift for tea and whisky drinkers alike.
