Moonlight White is a superb example of Chinese white tea from Yunnan Province. It is very similar in appearance to Silver Needle white tea from Fujian Province, which is made purely from early harvested leaf buds. The name is said to come from the practice of withering the leaves at night, ‘under the moon’ as opposed to under the sun. Moonlight White is light and sweet with a floral and stone fruit flavour.

Lovely tea, smooth and refreshing.
This is my new favourite tea! I am comparing it with my previous number one choice - Silver Needle - with which it shares many of its characteristics, except this tea delivers these things with more intensity. Whilst the aroma and flavour are still subtle, I find at times that they can be a bit too subtle with many silver needles. However, the Moonlight White brews to a slightly deeper honey gold, with a noticeably sweet aroma, reminiscent of freshly made hay. The taste is a soothing blend of delicate fruits such as melon and mango, whose flavours linger after each mouthful. The whole effect is subtle but in no way weak. A really lovely tea!
